Here's a new big (nearly A4) portrait glued to a cardboard base and obviously taken out of the frame.

He wears the M1895 uniform with the M1895 hussars dolman (used by the cavalry, artillery and gendarmes), in my opinion, he serves with the 1st Border Guard Regiment, more about this regiment here: http://www.traditia-...=12&language=en there you can also find photos with the uniforms used by the regiment.

Maybe he serves in the Royal Escort Regiment. I don't think it's the Border Guard Regiment because the helmet looks different.
1. "Officers helmets from the Boder Guard Regiment".
2. Helmet "Jandarmi Calari" (Gendarmes a cheval)
3. "Helmets. One is for the Palace Guard and the other is for the Royal Escort."

I think I foud a picture of that uniform! It's a photo taken in Muzeul Militar National, Bucharest.
Photo 1: The uniform is the one in the left. There is a uniform of the Border Guard Regiment next to it.
Photo 2: "Tunic and decorations belonging to King Carol II" (Border Guard Regiment's uniform)
Photo 3: Geandarmes uniform. Looks pretty similar with "our uniform" so it's a bit confusing...
In conclusion, we search for a blue uniform with dark red collar and flaming grenade on the collar, I think. Probably a MD 1930 (or post 1930) uniform. Maybe our friend Mircea can help us :)

Many thanks for your research!!!

You're welcome! I'll keep searching... I think it's the uniform of a geandarmes guard unit because the color of the uniform is "bleu jandarm" - the color of geandarmes' uniform before 1948.
